Lake Gregory Activities/Events

best lake fishing

Trout, Bass, Catfish, Crappie, Carp and Bluegill abound in this loca lake, 15 minutes from Lake Arrowhead. The trout fishing is usually very good, with Power Bait (green and rainbow colors), Super Dupers (copper and gold), Kastmasters (gold and silver) and Rooster Tails (all colors) being very effective. Trout season is November through April but you may fish year round for trout, catfish and carp at this lake. Trolling from rental boats ($20 for half day, $40 all day, $200.00 for a season rental which runs April through October) is very productive, especially if you bring or rent an electric motor, as well as float tubing ($5 a day) and shore fishing (free) almost all around the lake from dawn to dusk. For boat rental or other information, please call (909) 338-2233

There's an annual Free Youth Fishing Derby every June for kids under sixteen, and a big tagged fish Fishing Derby that happens four times a year, with a $2,000 top prize! There's also $1,000, $500, $200, two $100, and five $50 prizes and lots of other nice prizes (hundreds in all!) to be won. It only costs $10 to enter at the boathouse and it's well worth-it. Historically, most of the tagged fish are caught during the derby! Don't miss out!

If you need to stock up on snacks or supplies, there is a bait shop and a snack bar within the park stocked with goodies for visitors to purchase, there is also a grocery store across the street from the lake. There is no camping at this 150 acre park, but there is a camping site across the way called Camp Switzerland and they are reasonably priced, call 909-338-2731 for more information on camping fees. Camp Switzerland is located at 24558 Lake Drive in Crestline.

Lake Gregory's Annual Start to the Holiday Season

Come Enjoy Our Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration!
Set for Nov. 26
at Lake Gregory's North Shore Parking Lot
Just After Sunset
Plan to attend the Crestline Christmas tree lighting celebration on Nov. 26 to kick off the holiday season!

The annual tree lighting festivities begins just after sunset and includes holiday music, hot food and drinks, a reading of the Christmas story, and of course throwing the switch, lighting one of the biggest evergreen trees at Lake Gregory’s South Shore, decorated with multiple strings of colorful lights and a star on top!

The fun begins after dark, and traditional Christmas carols add to the festive feel. Audience participation is always encouraged to join in the singing. Pastors from a number of mountain community churches take turns reading the Christmas story during the evening’s program.

Crestline's Annual Christmas Celebration, Dec. 3

DECEMBER 2016

December 3rd:
Crestline's Annual Christmas Celebration
Dec. 3, 2016

Mark your calendar to attend the annual Crestline Family Christmas celebration on Dec. 3 when families and friends gather around the town’s holiday bonfire at Lake Gregory’s North Shore parking lot and share the fun. Enjoy Christmas music, munch on free hot dogs, sip on hot chocolate then greet Santa as he arrives to an escort of fire engines.

Starting at around 5 p.m. and lasting until 8 o’clock, the free holiday event begins just after San Bernardino County firefighters stack a pile of wooden crates, then light the bonfire as attendees watch in anticipation of a warm, friendly blaze.

Presented by the Crestline-Lake Gregory Chamber of Commerce in partnership with San Bernardino County Fire, Lake Gregory Recreation Company and Goodwin and son's Market, the party atmosphere mixed with just a proper chill in the air makes the perfect start to the Christmas season.

Bring a canned food item for needy families, and firefighters will be on hand to accept new and unwrapped toys for children ranging from infant to 17 years of age for the Spark of Love Toy Drive.

Don’t forget to bring a camera or your smart phone to take photos of your child telling Santa what they would like for Christmas!
