Welcome to Golden Sunshine! This classic log home is a perfect place for a mountain retreat or for a family get together.
This classic log cabin is located 2 miles from town, away from all the hustle and bustle but close enough to make trips to town a short drive. The home features a large, expansive deck that is perfect for hanging out with family and friends while grilling something delicious on the BBQ. The deck is also a great place to do some morning yoga or sitting back and enjoying a glass of wine as you watch the sun set amongst the valley.
When you get first walk inside the home, the living room’s tall ceilings and windows greet you, bringing natural light in the home. The home has a very down to earth, peaceful ambiance to it, making the home the perfect place to unwind and relax from a stressful week. The home’s country kitchen is fully equipped with all the essential pots, pans, dishes and utensils one could possibly need to whip up a heart meal. Living room has a wood burning fireplace which is the best way to warm up during the colder months and gives a classic ambiance.
The home has three bedrooms upstairs. The master has a king sized bed and the other two rooms have queen sized beds. The downstairs office can serve as a fourth bedroom with a futon that turns into a queen sized bed. The office is perfect for the kids as it also has it’s own TV to keep the kids entertained.
Golden Sunshine is the perfect home for a large group or family who is looking for a stress free getaway from it all in a beautiful classic log cabin.

Totally misrepresented home.

This place is not as pictured. The front page of a gorgeous hot tub should be removed. It was not on, andvrental agency blamed previous guests. Washing machine didn't work, but because it's an 'extra' the rental agency didn't care. The furniture was ripped and dirty. Gross carpeting in one bathroom. Dirty grout on tiles kitchen counters. Main floor bathroom was musty and had water issues under sink. The soap dispensers were empty. No shampoo. Deck boards have nails sticking out. Terrible lighting. The grill was dirty. Not .9 miles from town center, it's 2.5 miles. I was told it was an 'easy walk to town center'. The place is not as pictured, and the rental agency is fully aware. We felt scammed.

We loved our long weekend in Idyllwild at Golden Sunshine. This is a very charming, welcoming home with everything you need for a relaxing weekend in the woods. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking great meals, the living spaces were great for playing games, watching movies and hanging out with friends. We spent some time playing games on the deck and would have loved a few more adirondack chairs for watching the sunset, but other than that we had the best time. Would recommend for couples and families looking for a spacious home in a relaxing environment with excellent views. Also, an easy 7 min drive to town for food and amenities.

Spent a few days in the Golden Sunshine cabin. It was rustic but comfortable. It could use some updates but overall it’s a great place. The management company was easy to deal with and very helpful.

We stayed @ Golden Sunshine cabin in Idyllwild April 2-6/'19. The place is a "real wood cabin" - what we were looking for! Views were AMAZING!!! The deck in the pic to the right is what we called the "sunshine deck" - so kewl! The cabin sleeps 10, no prob. There were 9 of us, incl our 2-yr old granddaughter. There is a loft, which made us a little nervous because of the toddler - we don't think she could squeeze under the wood edge at the bottom, yet we were on high alert when she meandered near it. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the basics for cooking! We were grateful, we cook lots. Only thing I could say about the kitchen is the dials on the oven/stovetop need replacing - can't read them. Had to guess at temps and burned the tops of a couple dishes some because we were off. The laundry room was amazing - included a space for folding clothes and a built-in wall heater (as well as in both bathrooms). Speaking of the bathrooms - both are super-sized - nice - one shower, one tub. Everything worked, we just ran out of toilet paper on our last night! The staff of New Spirit, esp Lydia and Anthony (office mgr), were both readily available by phone/text, answered every time. We did run into a mix up on leaving the cabin. We paid extra to be able to check out a couple hours after normal check out, yet the cleaning staff were not notified. Anthony happily & readily refunded us! Speaking of cleaning, the place was VERY clean! It's older (think rustic!), yet well maintained/cleaned. There was also an amazing cast iron stove in the LR which we kept going at night - heated the entire place! The 2 main roads were blocked when we came, made our commuting to/from Ontario airport & Hemet twice as long, yet we'd do it again in a heartbeat as this location was all around amazing! Minutes from town and plenty of hiking opportunities! LOVE this location & the quaint town of Idyllwild - been coming since I was little, now bringing our fam!

Our stay was pleasant and the price was right. It was a nice cabin however, it is nearly impossible to tell what the stove settings are when you are trying to cook. We burned a few things.

It was our first time that my family and I rent a cabin and we all love it, kids had the most amazing time, they didn't want to left the cabin. Cabin was clean, very confortable, awesome location, the owner answer all my questions very quickly. We loved it there and we definitely recommend it and also going back in summer.

A nice little mountain escape

The cabin itself was nice, though maybe not quite as nice as some of the pictures (I think the patio furniture had been taken in for the winter or something).
We did see a few mice, but it's a cabin afterall, so that wasn't the end of the world.
We had plenty of space, and enjoyed cooking our meals, relaxing around the stovepipe fireplace, and checking out the stars at night.
The management company gave us everything we needed, though they were a little disorganized at check-in (tried to check me into the wrong cabin more than once), but I'm willing to chalk that up to it being the end of a long day on a holiday weekend.
All in all, a nice stay, we'd definitely do it again.

Magical time in the mountains

Our time at Golden Sunshine was magical. I t is a peaceful place perched on top of the mountainside. We sat on the wonderful wrap around deck and watched the sunset. We were there for a brief time but felt as if we got a lovely respite which renew and reentered us. Thank you for all that the New spirit star did to make our stay so great.
